Kira and Zach built their life on resilience, blended a family with Kira’s two daughters, and accepted that their family was complete. But in early 2025, they were surprised with a miracle: they were expecting a baby girl, Haevyn Lexley Roose. Every detail of her nursery was prepared with awe and love, a true testament to answered prayers.
Their joy turned to agonizing sorrow at a routine 39-week check-up when they discovered Haevyn had passed away. The heartbreak of holding her for three sacred days and then planning a funeral instead of a welcome home party became the catalyst for a mission.
From this pain, the Faith, Hope & Haevyn Foundation was established. We offer financial support to families experiencing the devastating loss of a child, ensuring they have the space to grieve without being overwhelmed by financial burdens. Haevyn’s life, though brief, inspires every act of hope and love we share.
When our son, Jun, was stillborn, we were numb. Planning his memorial felt impossible, both emotionally and financially. The Faith Hope & Haevyn Foundation stepped in and compassionately covered the full cost of the ceremony and burial plot. This generosity allowed us to honor Jun with dignity without suffering financial distress. Meeting other parents who understood the unique pain of infant loss made us feel seen and less isolated. It is a safe space where we can share Jun’s memory and cry without judgment. The foundation didn’t just provide a service; they provided a community. They gave us the “faith” that we can find a way to live with this loss. The support group remains a weekly lifeline that helps us carry on.
When our newborn, Clara, passed away, the hardest part was explaining the loss to our five-year-old son, Mateo. He was heartbroken and confused. The Faith Hope & Haevyn Foundation immediately connected us with their ‘Big Hearts, Little Worries’ sibling support program. They arranged sessions with a child bereavement specialist who used age-appropriate exercises and books to help Mateo process his sadness and confusion. This support was invaluable; it gave him the tools to grieve his sister without internalizing the trauma. They also provided materials to guide us on talking about death with a young child. The foundation recognized that infant loss affects the entire family, especially the existing children. They helped us protect Mateo’s peace during a time of chaos, allowing us to mourn our little “Haevyn-sent” girl while supporting our big boy.
After our month-long journey in the NICU ended with the loss of our daughter, Lily, we returned home completely drained. The Faith Hope & Haevyn Foundation provided two weeks of in-home respite care. A compassionate helper came daily, handling light housework, preparing meals, and allowing us to simply rest and grieve. This practical aid was essential, relieving the burden of domestic tasks when we were mentally and physically incapable. Additionally, they assigned a volunteer administrative liaison who helped Michael organize the overwhelming paperwork: insurance claims, death certificates, and hospital communications. This assistance relieved a huge mental load. The foundation understood that grief is exhausting; they gently managed the logistics of our lives so we could dedicate our energy to mourning Lily. Their support was a profound example of practical “faith” during our period of deepest vulnerability.
Losing our daughter, Elara, at 36 weeks due to placental abruption was the most devastating event of our lives. The emotional pain was compounded by the crushing hospital bills from the emergency C-section. We were drowning in debt and grief simultaneously. The Faith Hope & Haevyn Foundation immediately intervened, covering a significant portion of our uncovered medical expenses. This financial relief was crucial, allowing us to focus on mourning Elara instead of managing debt. Beyond the money, they provided a direct referral to a specialized couples’ grief counselor. This professional support was instrumental in helping Marco and I navigate our individual grief processes without damaging our relationship. We learned how to support each other while walking through this darkness. The foundation’s support was discreet, comprehensive, and vital. They gave us the “hope” we needed to start healing, ensuring our physical and emotional recovery was the priority. We are profoundly thankful for their care during our darkest hour.
